Care with Transitions Midwifery Services, LLC, includes:
*Consultation in my home office; this visit will include an information packet, risk-assessment, nutritional counseling, and plenty of time to ask questions and have them answered.
*Regular prenatal care given on a standard schedule: every 4 weeks until 28 weeks of pregnancy, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then weekly thereafter until you give birth. Plenty of time will be allotted for these visits, with a minimum of one hour. Additional appointments can be scheduled as often as needed by either the parents or the midwife. Care occurs in my home office in Goose Creek, SC. At least one visit will occur in your home around 36 weeks of pregnancy, to check in with your birthing supplies, and delivery the birth kit and the heated tub (if desired).
*Billing to your health insurance company. I have had success with multiple carriers as an out-of-network provider, including Aetna, United HealthCare, Tricare Standard, MedCost, and others. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, but I will work hard to get you the maximum refund possible! South Carolina Medicaid is also welcomed, although not all fees are covered. I am happy to explain this further if you would like to contact me for additional information.
*Full access to a varied lending library of books and DVDs.
*Referrals to community resources as needed, such as childbirth education, prenatal yoga, massage therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and herbalists.
*Regular nutritional counseling, if needed.
*On-call availability 24/7 for your birth after 37 weeks gestation. Non-urgent calls may be returned within a few hours, situation dependent.
*Support as needed during labor.
*Water birth is available, and encouraged if desired. Heated tubs are available; please speak with me further if interested.
*Postpartum care is individualized to you and your baby’s needs. The average time I spend with clients after the birth is four hours. I stay until everyone is stable, your home is tidy, and laundry is started, with the help of a fine assistant.
*Breastfeeding assistance and support.
*Newborn exam (quite possibly, my favorite part!).
*Administration of infant eye ointment and Vitamin K drops, if desired.
*Newborn screening (PKU) on day 3, if desired. $70 fee applies.
*Postpartum visits in your home at 24-36 hours and 3 days minimally; more can be scheduled if needed.
*Postpartum visit at 6 weeks at my office; again, more can be scheduled if needed
*Various forms of placental medicine can be created from this amazing organ. Homeopathic remedies, tinctures, and/or raw, dehydrated placental encapsulation services are available for additional fees, if requested.
Call me today to schedule your consultation visit. I’ll e-mail you a packet to review, containing a thorough health history and questionnaire, the informed consent for home birth, and the financial agreement.
Additionally, I am glad to offer services to families who seek to birth unassisted. There is some documentation that is required by SC to obtain a birth certificate for your child, and I will be glad to assist with this. I also offer rental of the portable water birth tubs to unassisted birthing parents. Please contact me for additional information.

I've been meaning to email you anyway about how the placenta pills worked out. It's been almost 10 months and I still have my hair {she suffered tremendous hair loss 3-4 months after her last four pregnancies}. I really didn't think it would work, and not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but I barely lost any hair this time...I attribute the benefits to the placenta pills. I sure am thankful that you made those up for me, I haven't had this thick or long of hair in ages. After so many pregnancies and losing so much hair each time, I felt like I didn't have much left.
